w3 Church Host was founded from a realization that churches need a
better way to update their websites without having to rely
on someone that knows HTML, etc. When churches rely on a volunteer
web designer, or the high school student learning web design, they must wait until
that person has some free time to even update simplistic things such as the event
calendar. As a result, you often see churches with sites saying "Come join
us in such and such event," and then you see that the date was two months ago. This
results in the church members no longer going to the site because it doesn't stay
updated, and that's to say nothing of site visitors who will want to know what's
going on to see if they want to check out your church.
As a result of this need, we have developed our Church Site Tools to assist
churches in getting away from a reliance on volunteer web developers for information
that needs updating on a regular basis, such as an event calendar. This doesn't mean
that your volunteer web designer or developer is out of a job. Rather, it means that
they can focus on more important areas, such as expanding the site, rather than having
to spend all of their free time just trying to stay caught up with the calendar.
